This article shows you as a contract owner how to register and execute options, meaning agreed extensions.
Add the options field to the contract
Options are a data field that is not there from the start. Put the contract into edit mode and go to the details: Add data field only appears there, not when you are just viewing the contract. Search for the contract options field in the dialog and add it. The contract then gets its own options section.
Register the options
Add one option per agreed extension, with a title, a description, the new start and end dates, and the deadline for executing it. The deadline matters most: it is what gives you warning in time.
A framework agreement saying "up to 1 year at a time, 2 years maximum" is therefore registered as two options, not one.
Execute an option
When you decide to extend, you execute the option from the contract. You get a confirmation dialog showing the new end date before you confirm, and the option is marked as executed afterwards.
⚠️ Warning: An executed option cannot be undone. The contract end date moves immediately. Remember to tell the counterparty as well: the execution happens in SourceMagnet, but notifying the supplier is up to you.
